福井県を良くする会はダニエル代表、吉田幹事長、亀谷政調会長の３人でやっていますが、現在の実情としては、吉田幹事長が新しい政治組織を立ち上げたらしく、亀谷政調会長も越前町義選挙以降は表舞台に出ていません。吉田さんと亀谷さんが別々の道を歩んでいるように見えますが、ダニエル代表は実質的には一人で頑張っている感じになっているのでしょうか。

台湾の故・李登輝元総統が著書「台湾の主張」で言っていた「政治家は大きく太く物事を考え、細かいことは無視できなければならない」という言葉を今になって思い返してみる。私が18歳の頃初めて読んだ本だが、当時は意味があまりよくわからなかった。この言葉を言い換えると、「目先の利益に踊らされず、長期的な視点で物事を考えなければならない」ということだろう。具体的にどういうことか。

一番わかりやすいのは選挙だろう。選挙に勝つために政治家、または政治家志望者は一生懸命努力する。しかし、当選することが目的なら当選したら終わりである。その後何をやりたいのか、と聞かれても答えようがなく、当選後国民のためにロクな仕事ができない。大学入試のために一生懸命勉強して合格できた若者が、大学入学後何を勉強したいのか分からなくなるのと同じぐらいバカげたことだ。

どこの選挙区にもいるが、選挙前だけ一生懸命街頭に立って頭をひたすら下げて、選挙後どこにいるのか分からなくなる候補者。首長選で果敢に既得権益側が押す候補者に挑むが、惜しくも落選した後、SNSの更新や街頭演説をやめる候補者。経済的利益のために中国に擦り寄る財界人や政治家などなど、これらも短絡的思考の典型例であり、最終的には良い仕事ができない。

大野市の解決困難な課題についても同じことが言える。大野市の一番の問題と言うと、人口減少対策と景気対策があげられるだろうか。しかしこれらの問題は大きな問題であり、「直線で解決を図るべきでない問題」である。これまで大野市をはじめとする過疎に悩む自治体は、あの手この手で子育て支援や移住対策に取り組んできた。しかし、従来型のやり方を続けていては大きな効果は期待できない。当然、そのような政策は他の自治体でもやっているはずだからだ。私たちは、もっと根本的な解決策を見出すべきなのであり、残念ながらそれは既存メディアや政治家の口から語られることはない。

経済的な問題や人口減少のような大きな問題を解決するためには、古いタイプの政治家を総入れ替えし、自民党１党体制を終わらせる必要がある。停滞した政治を改革することこそ、福井県が発展するための処方箋なのだ。その後に、斬新な景気対策や人口減少対策を打てるようになる。大きな問題を改革するために、まずしなければならないことをやるべきなのだ。今のように、有権者と政治家の距離が大きく離れ、無投票・多選・世襲が蔓延る政治状況が続いている限り、福井県の政治にダイナミズムが生まれるわけはない。政治家は問題の根幹を有権者に悟られないよう、枝葉の改革を一生懸命アピールしている。大野市であれば、役所の機構改革とか。だから全てが停滞しており、何も動かない。私たちは何十年と本当にやるべきこと、つまり政治改革、自民党１党体制からの脱却をやってこなかったのである。

自民党の中にも優秀な人材はいるだろうが、福井県においては自民党があらゆる選挙で勝ち続ける限り、頭の古い福井県連のトップは引退することはない。自民党が選挙に負けることは、自民党の若手にとっても歓迎すべきことなのだ。
